A Fistful of Ska 3. The Good, the Ska and the Ugly

starring SONIC BOOM SIX , Riskee and the Ridicule and many more

SONIC BOOM SIX is an explosive and outspoken five-piece rock band from Manchester, UK described by Kerrang! as "taking ska, pop, grime, dubstep, punk and metal apart, then rebuilding them as a hyperactive hybrid". With a live show known for "clashing activism and good times", SB6 play firmly for the dance-floor while retaining enough power and aggression to be an active fixture of the UK's rock scene. The Boom’s influences include The Specials, The Streets, and Public Enemy and the band signed with Xtra Mile Recordings in early 2012, who released their self-titled titled album ‘Sonic Boom Six’ on October 17th 2012.

Kent upstarts, RISKEE & THE RIDICULE have been around for a few years now but I first encountered them in January 2019 where they gave an incendiary performance supporting Random Hand. It was nice to see some anger in an increasingly easy going overly happy scene. I never understood that. We need someone who isn’t afraid to start the occasional fire, strike the first match etc. No one’s fighting for anything anymore, until now.

Faintest Idea take the bouncing beat of 2 Tone Ska and smash it over the head with fast, angry UK Punk. Hailing from the East Anglian region of Britain the rabble rousing political lyrics are shouted over layers of catchy brass lines and heavy boot stomping beats

Together for nearly a decade, LAST EDITION have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the likes of Reel Big Fish, Mad Caddies, Anti-Flag, Big D and the Kids Table and The King Blues to name just a few.
Heavily influenced by two-tone, and third-wave ska (mostly the bands mentioned above) – Last Edition’s live set boasts high-energy, hard-hitting ska punk that will leave you with a smile on your face.
FAINTEST IDEA take the bouncing beat of 2 Tone Ska and smash it over the head with fast, angry UK Punk.
The new material by Zen Baseballbat is a slap in the face, a wake-up call to rip us from the stasis we’ve ghosted into since recession and Brexit took hold. Can’t go forward, can’t go back so we might as well just sit and watch the bombs fall.
INTERGALACTIC BRASSTRONAUTS ..If you like your Ska with a big big brass section you're gonna love this.
CHINCHILLA DEATH CULT Genre defying ska band formed in 2018 with members from across the West Yorkshire Music scene. Expect anything from Bach style metal riffs to Latin beats via unusual covers with a bit of everything in between - all moulded to fit into a ska shaped box.

All held together and broadcast live by Boot Boy Radio.
