On the whole, we want our message to convey that there is a need for a level of personal responsibility, compassion and kindness for each other that essentially helps us all. We appreciate your continued support.
We’re excited to be joining the Piano Day celebrations – an annual worldwide event taking place on the 88th day of the year to correspond to the number of keys on the instrument – to bring you the next in our series hosting Brudenell Piano Sessions. Featuring an outstanding line-up of varied piano music created here in Yorkshire and elsewhere in the UK, hosted and curated by Leeds-based pianist and composer Simeon Walker:
“Why does the world need a Piano Day? For many reasons. But mostly, because it doesn’t hurt to celebrate the piano and everything around it: performers, composers, piano builders, tuners, movers and most important, the listener.” – Nils Frahm, Piano Day founder.
After a captivating performance here as part of Leeds International Film Festival, we’re welcoming back award-winning, Yorkshire-based Matthew Bourne to the stage. Specialising in piano and keyboard, Bourne has worked with the London Sinfonietta, John Zorn, Nils Frahm and many more – we can’t wait to see what he brings to this show.
Izzy Flynn is a former Leeds student, now based in London. An artist/composer, pianist and vocalist her music is influenced by electronic, jazz and R&B styles, with rich harmonies and memorable melodies.
Alexander Carson is a singer-songwriter and composer from Norwich now based in London. Bringing beautiful, soaring vocals Carson is the former lead-singer of Wooden Arms, and is now on his 3rd studio album with producer Fabian Prynn (4AD / D D Dumbo / Douglas Dare) and engineer Shuta Shinoda (Ghostpoet / Daughter / Hotchip)
