Piano Sessions Presents...

Taz Modi

+ Kari

Brudenell Piano Sessions are proud to present a solo show from pianist Taz Modi, who will be launching his forthcoming solo album ‘Reclaimed Goods’.
Best known as part of Submotion Orchestra, as well as being Matthew Halsall's pianist and right-hand man for many years, Taz's solo project combines atmospheric piano, lush strings, and subtle, ambient electronica to create unique and evocative soundscapes.
With influences ranging from the modern piano of Nils Frahm and Hauschka to the ambient electronica of Oneohtrix Point Never and Portico Quartet, these are deeply cinematic and emotional compositions, which come alive with the help of a string trio, prepared piano and live piano sampling.
His debut album 'Reclaimed Goods' has been heavily influenced by the volatile political events of the last few years, and as the child of immigrant parents, they led to a personal exploration of what it means to be British, and the many different claims people have to define Britishness.
