Live Transmission Records & Johnny Casual Present a St Patricks Day Celebration

The Tradition

St Patrick's weekend in Leeds just would not be the same without an appearance from seminal Leeds Irish group THE TRADITION.
The band formed around 1989 and blazed a trail all over the North of England with their brand of raggle taggle Irish fare for many years.
Back for the 8th year for another special celebration of the most Irish of Saints days the gig will take place in Brudenell Social Club on Saturday 17th March 2018

THIS GIG HAS SOLD OUT FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS AND WE EXPECT IT TO DO THE SAME THIS YEAR SO BUY YOUR TICKETS EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!!

On the night expect music of the likes of The Pogues, U2, The Waterboys, Van Morrison, The Dubliners, The Cranberries, The Saw Doctors, Planxty, Thin Lizzy, The Undertones The Cranberries, Christy Moore,The Divine Comedy,The Clancy Brothers and much more.

Taking to the stage on the night as The Tradition will be -

SEAN GAVAGHAN

Anyone and everyone involved in Irish music circles knows exactly who Sean Gavaghan or "Gav" is.
The 7 time All Ireland champion is a one of the finest exponents of the piano box ~ add to this his charismatic and flamboyant style of playing and he could be likened to the Muhammad Ali of the Piano Accordion.

EUGENE MALLON

Eugene, of Longford stock, is known as one of the North's finest ballad singers.
He is as comfortable belting out tracks from Johnny Cash to Christy Moore. A fine showman to boot.

JOHNNY & MICHAEL CRONIN

The Cronin brothers have had great success in Ireland since they moved back there from Leeds 15 years ago.
They've hit the charts on a number of occasions with Both The Aftermath and Cronin as well as featured on film soundtracks.
The have collaborated and shared the stage with such diverse people as Shane MacGowan from The Pogues, Bono from U2, Nick Cave, to Niall Horan from One Direction to Hollywood actor Johnny Depp.

MARTIN GRAY

Leeds bassist Martin enjoyed many years as part of The Aftermath along with the Cronin's.
Known on the circuit as one of the baddest, funky mothers around.

IAN PEARSON

A prominent fiddle player in much demand on the trad circuit and part of The Gemma Irving Trio

"Top class. Different than other players. Great ability, Great style. In a word..... None better. You don't win 7 All Irelands by chance"
Mick Foster - FOSTER & ALLEN

"The Cronin's do my song better than me now, they have pure Celtic soul."
Shane MacGowan - THE POGUES
