The Tea Street Band

The Tea Street Band made many friends in their so far relatively short career. Singles ‘Disco Lights’ and ‘Lost For Words’ made the playlist at XFM and were chosen by Huw Stephens as BBC Intro Single of the week. These plaudits are richly deserved for this four piece from Liverpool.

Recent shows have been ticket only and have caused twitter storms and sweaty dancefloors. The last year has seen the band touring with Inspiral Carpets, Jimi Goodwin (Doves) and playing shows with The Charlatans. They have also played the main stage at a host of British Festivals after the release of their debut self-titled album in 2014 on Liverpools, Baltic Records.

Twitter has been key to the band communicating with their fans.  Along the way the lads have received praise from Lennox Lewis and seen their videos played on Channel 4. All from the magic of the bands relentless conversations!

The band are Timo Tierney, Nick Otaegui, Lee Smith and Dom Allen. Together they have toured the world this year. Their shows in New York, Sydney, Melbourne, Seoul and across Europe have seen them build a fanbase across the globe. Having extensively toured the UK in 2014, building fans along the way from Janice Long on Radio 2 to John Kennedy of XFM. They have picked up plays along the way from Dave Monks, Jo Good, Clint Boon and Rob Da Bank. The Tea Street Band cross over genres and have the spirit of the dancefloor. Some of their songs are becoming anthems across Merseyside and perhaps only a matter of time before the ears of the rest will be singing their songs...

Then Thickens

Originally starting life as a home studio project from front-man Jon-Lee Martin and after some encouragement from close friend Jorma Vik from The Bronx, a series of lo-fi recordings appeared online which, showed the bare bones of Then Thickens. Now years later and with a full band behind him, Then Thickens began to take things further with their full sound of lo-fi pop meets American rock.

Following support shows with Mariachi El Bronx and Biffy Clyro the band released their debut album ‘Death Cap at Anglezarke in 2014. Catching the attention of Ian McCulloch Then Thickens were invited to join Echo & The Bunnymen on a tour of the UK later that year before the band re-grouped to record their second album. The following year saw the release of the darker sounding Then Thickens; album ‘Colic’ with them rounding off 2015 with a tour supporting The Computers.

Deadwall

"Meandering from slickly executed chamber pop to the shoegazer momnets of 90s college rock. Glimpses of Big Star, Teenage Fanclub and the more stoned elements of Dinosaur Jr." - NME

"I love when bands this good refuse to waste time on singles, EPs, press releases, etc. It’s like, “fuck it. We have 10 great demos, let’s just throw them up on Soundcloud and see what happens.” Magic, in their case.” - Don't Need No Melody

Deadwall toe the line between beauty and brutality, with wonderfully free guitars, rigid   mellotrons and tape ruined arrangements supporting delicate falsettos. On the strength of their debut record, Bukini no Tani, they were invited to play with bands such as British Sea Power and Camera Obscura.

Their new album is coming out on Hatch Records in Spring 2016.
