Drawing on a wide range of influences from the 1960’s – 1990’s rock and pop genres. Playing up tempo, beat driven tracks to slower paced acoustic/piano, making for a varied and melodic live sound. 

They’ve had success touring, and also supporting Simon Fowler (Ocean Colour Scene/Merrymouth), Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets), Proud Mary, The Hoosiers, Chris Helme (The Seahorses), Scars on 45 and the Levellers.

Formed from the ashes of The Blueskins, Pavilion and Anechoic, they thrive in bittersweet, sophisticated pop with a darkly melodic edge. Influenced by the genius of The Beach Boys and the pop sensibilities of Tom Petty, the band have impressed crowds at their early live shows providing support to Embrace and CryBabyCry.


With an upcoming TV appearance, the future for Sons of Great Men shows much promise.

Having written and performed since the age of 13, Dan draws upon his vast experience to deliver an effectively executed brand of acoustic driven indie rock. His style has an unmistakably 90's feel to it, with the acoustic works of Noel Gallagher and Belle & Sebastian an evident influence. He is a self produced, self published artist. His debut solo album 'Everything Human' is blend of big productions combined with subtle, delicate acoustic tracks, creating an intriguingly varied experience for the listener. His one man live show is equally compelling, with alternative versions of his songbook that highlight his more folky qualities.
