Humans as Ornaments ‘When Will This Be Enough?’ EP Launch party at The Brudenell Social Club
Humans as Ornaments
Humans As Ornaments are: Jack Byrne (Vocals, Guitar), Sam Jackson (Guitar), Guy Read (Bass Guitar), John Roberts (Drums)
Do you remember the pleasure of listening to a battered tape borrowed from a friend, louder than you thought your eardrums could stand?
Revisiting the grungy, dirty joy of that first encounter with music, Humans as Ornaments’ fierce noise pushes into your brain, cancelling out everything but each heartfelt lyric.
The four piece alternative rock band, based in Leeds, draw influences from heavy-hitters like Weezer, The Vines and Queens of the Stone Age. But although born from mutual respect for a much-loved genre, this band has created a sound that’s energetically, deliciously their own.
After playing alongside God Damn, Allusondrugs and The Xcerts among others, Humans as Ornaments released their second single Think Sharp Kid in the summer of 2014. Having speant the time since then writing and recording, their upcoming EP, When will this be enough?, sees the band dig their rock roots deeper into the turf.
Appearing alongside them the band are happy to have support from Avalanche Party from Castleton, bringing their own brand of powerful Garage / Rock and Roll. Leeds based Molars who offer a rockier slant on the 80's Indie scene, and another Leeds group Possum who offer a delicate inspiration from post rock.
