Final Flash (canada, Emi)

Canadian folk rock group Final Flash are playing their first Leeds gig. Since wowing the music industry at south by southwest, they've recently signed to EMI and ready to win over British crowds. With support from local leeds acts The Roy Shuckers and Matt Bentley, admission is 6.

FINAL FLASH:

This past year was a whirlwind for newcomers, Final Flash. Based in Montreal, this emerging quintet, is rapidly making waves with their unique brand of psychedelic folk-rock.

Final Flash have quickly caught the attention of fans, local media and programmers, landing shows at Canadian Music Week, Pop Montreal, the Whistler Canadian Music Showcase, part of the Whistlers Filmmaker Forum, as well as Transmission an elite international conference for music and technology, held annually in Vancouver.

The bands Fall 2008 performance at the Toronto International Film Festivals Canadian Music Caf a showcase specifically for music supervisors was so well received, that they landed an international publishing deal with Los Angeles based North Star Media.

The band once again received great reviews from music supervisors and media for their shows both at CMW and SXSW in March 2009, as well as NXNE where they were approached (and now putting a deal together) by EMI, adding to the buzz, which continues to gain momentum surrounding this exciting young band. Final Flash went to China in April-May of 2009 as part of TRANSMIT-China. The Chinese tour was such a success that the band has already been invited back to both China and Japan for asian festivals in 2010, and locally play international showcase event M for Montreal in November 2009.

The young five-piece just put the final touch on their debut album Homeless, produced by Jace Lasek available digitally on the 20th of April. With EMI jumping on board for the physical release, Homeless will be available in stores on May 4th 2010.

Live review:Born in Burnley, but now based out of Leeds, Matt Bentley is a solo acoustic singer / songwriter and guitarist.With very beautiful, amazing strummings on his guitario, a voice like liquid gold and stunning songs from the base of his tummy; his shows are not to be missed.
