Move over Animal Collective, White Denim, Clark, Yeasayer and MGMT; theres a new gang in town and their name is Royal Bangs. Yep, this Tennessee quintet are that damn fine. Not that they walk in anyone elses shadow. No, siree. Their second LP is all their own, a creatively liberated and thrillingly liberating mesh of out-there psychedelia, hook-centric guitar pop, ravey electronic noise, 70s MOR rock, punky funk and (post) hardcore energy. For seriously smart fun, youd be hard-pressed to top this.
