Moon Duo is the solo alter-ego of Wooden Shjips guitarist and singer Ripley Johnson. Under the Moon Duo moniker Johnson creates expansive Krautrock influenced tapestries of warm cascading fuzz and controlled feedback, organ, and accenting keyboard. This four song CDEP (released after the well received vinyl edition) is the second release and incorporates a much more concise, composed and driving sound than before. Johnson expands on ideas only hinted at on the “Sick Thirst” 12” (which is already long gone), adding a driving drum machine beat behind the thick walls of layered sound. Don’t sleep on this one.

Wild Nothing is the solo project of Virginia born Jack Tatum, who’s music is the product of an unhealthy obsession with nostalgia. Equal parts teenage wasteland and inexplicable regret, his songs are the kind that could only be made by the young at heart. Unlike the current herd of one-man bedroom bands, Tatum creates complex textural environments that aim for something higher. Melodies that yearn to stay with you.
