Brudenell presents....
Ultrasound
+ Scaramanga Six + Insect Guide
Ultrasound announce a return.... One of only 2 special UK shows.
(Motto): Triumph Through Adversity
When Ultrasound crashed on to the post Britpop 90s, superlatives ping-ponged back and forth like echo feedback, until there seemed no words left to describe them. Like a dwarf star they shone brightly for a short time before imploding in a fireball of paranoia and mistrust. They ran for cover to the 4 corners of the country to hollow out their own shells and suffer adversity alone. For a whole decade they were never together.
When Tim Smith of the Cardiacs suffered (ironically) a heart attack, Ultrasound were asked to reform for a benefit concert to raise money for him, and of course they couldnt refuse, so at the start of the new decade, the 5 members of Ultrasound met, and with 4 clicks of the sticks, arrived back home. Much has happened in the lives of those 5 in the 10 years they were apart, but the magic broke forth like an unfettered beast, and they all realised that this is what the world had been missing. We owe it to the people the ones who believed in us and carried a torch, and the ones who missed out on this - - -
(Press)
how many times have you seen a band who have left you completely speechless?
ultrasound crush the opposition like a supernova zapping a meteorite shower
here is a band that sing songs about the revolutionary properties of rock n roll and has the good grace to make these songs actually feel revolutionary
ultrasound remain a musical colossusepic beyond the levels of all but the most corpulent stadium rockers, but its as fragile as egg shells
its the way they create such vast tapestries of familiar sounds into something that is utterly new and wholly their own
that they can still make a sound like the sky colliding with the earth is the ultimate triumph
ultrasound are the true revolutionaries, revelling in the central imagery of rock as they turn it on its head
Now is your chance to worship at the altar of rock n roll once more and celebrate the new.Ultrasound are currently rehearsing and writing material for a new album. Come and see them at The Brudenell in Leeds, Friday 10th September 2010 for a sneak preview, and to see what all the fuss was about in the first place.
