Vision Fortune

Distinct, unmistakable and insular, Vision Fortune are an act for whom every song is a science. From within a self-constructed labyrinth of disconnected signifiers and playful apocrypha, the band concoct a music that triggers an intriguing visual state, cinematic images forming from a sound that harnesses precision minimalist counter melodies and rhythmic hypnosis with precision production techniques. Following sought-after releases on essential indie labels Cardinal Fuzz, Faux Discx and Gringo (who released last year’s debut LP ‘Mas Fiestas con el grupo Vision Fortune’, a sparse, claustrophobic statement of intent that sold out its first pressing within a month), Vision Fortune are readying their next slide into the ambiguity of things: a new album, and a live show that will proceed to the stages of the UK and Europe around it.

Out on ATP Recordings in February next year, ‘Country Music‘ is the sound of a band revelling in their ability to experiment with new sounds in new surroundings, taking an uneasy drone’s eye view across a world whose initially unforgiving surface belies the fervent network of musical ideas and imagination lying just beneath. Jarring thuds of sub bass, unidentifiable chimes, disorientating vocals and distant vapour trails of emotion invite us down a sonic blind alley from which the path back is unclear, and not necessarily welcome.
