POLO
http://polomusic.co.uk/
Yorkshire outfit Polo might hail from Leeds, but the band's glacial atmospherics and lush, r'n'b-tinged pop are an ethereal world away from the spit'n'sawdust DIY scene that the city's best known for.

After receiving the coveted PRS 'Women Make Music' grant, Polo released their debut EP, 'Alice', in March, 2017. Following this, the trio received high profile coverage from the likes of Noisey, Wonderland, Stereogum, DIY and Clash, as well as multiple BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 plays, XFM play-listing and Amazing Radio play-listing. That year, Polo completed their first UK tour, selling out small venues across the country.
Throughout 2018, Polo have continued to push their niche of affective, dappled synth pop with their most recent single 'Louder Than Words'. The single propelled Polo to further recognition and affirmed their growing abilities as songwriters of clout even without the extra playful, plinking synth splashes. The track excelled an already impressive festival season, announcing performances at key festivals such as The Great Escape, Live at Leeds, Hit the North, Evolution Emerging, Tramlines and The Great Exhibition of the North. This was complemented by the bands largest and most successful tour to date, a string of Radio 6 plays and the announcement that they will be funded by PRS a second time, proving once again that 2018 is their year.

APOLLO JUNCTION
http://www.apollojunction.com/
An indie, electro band played on BBC Radio 6, BBC Introducing, Radio X, Virgin Radio, BBC Radio 2. Danced to, and with, in clubs and fields all over.

Apollo Junction’s songs capture the euphoria of electro-dance music mixing with strong guitar hooks, driving bass and passionate vocals. From New Order through Giorgio Moroder, to The Cure, The Charlatans and Daft Punk, Apollo Junction use their influences to write insanely memorable, hugely uplifting tunes. These five school mates from Leeds have caught the attention of everyone from Radio DJs to the national press to film directors and TV producers. With their big hearted indie pop electronica they are poised to deliver a debuAt album this year, and a fistful of singles to whet the appetite.

UNCLE BUZZARD
http://unclebuzzard.bandcamp.com/
Like an early Unknown Mortal Orchestra if they’d fiddled with retro synths rather than noodling guitar lines, they play an inventive and warped take on lo-fi psych

PARADAEIS
https://www.facebook.com/paradaeis/
Originally from the Lake District, Paradaeis often wrote songs whilst staring out across the moving scenes of her home province. Since moving to Leeds she’s plugged in to the mains and supercharged her music with synths, sub bass and beats to create soundscapes that draw you into her world of spirituality, nature, heartbreak and strange dreams.
