A very special show to celebrate the 15yrs anniversary of acclaimed debut record “The Complete Guide To Insufficiency” by David Thomas Broughton.
Taking place at the wonderful historic Hyde Park Picture House, close to the location of the original location of the recording of the album at Wrangthorn Church Hall,
A Limited edition vinyl re-issue to celebrate the anniversary of the record is being released with the help of Song, by Toad Records.
Originally released in 2004 by Birdwar Records in the UK, ‘Complete Guide’ soon got a USA release on Plug Research in 2005, and garnered high praise from the likes of Tiny Mix Tapes and Pitchfork.
The music has been re-mastered, and the tracks slightly reordered to fit onto this special vinyl LP
“We began Birdwar Records in order to release this album…Our wish to try and capture David’s current set at the time, an early far less performative version of what would become his brilliant and unpredictable live shows. We decided not to record a second take, it was done, a wonderfully imperfect document with just the right amount of insufficiency.”
