The Fairytale of Leeds A Celebration of The Pogues & Shane McGowan
Leeds / Irish brothers Cronin play a special show for the Winter of 2018
A show of 2 sets, one their own songs, one the songs of Ireland’s finest legendary songwriter of The Pogues Shane MacGowan.
As well as Pogues songs the set list will feature material from Shane’s other recording output with The Popes and his first band The Nips.
Since the Cronin brothers returned to Ireland they have been lucky enough to get to know their idol and are now Mr MacGowans go to band of choice for collaborations, recordings and live shows including this years Fein In Liverpool and playing a big part in his 60th birthday celebration this year playing the after show party and drummer Mick appearing in the main band along with ex Pogues members.
For these shows Cronin will also be joined by former member of The Popes and London/Irish band The Biblecode Sundays accordionist Andy Nolan and Cavan whistle/saxofanist Daragh O’Reilly.
They have also appeared on the Sky Arts documentary ‘Shane MacGowan - A Wreck Reborn’.
