Dirty Otter / Bad Owl Presents...
Body Hound
No Moon album launch
No Moon is the first full-length album by Instrumental Progressive Rock band Body Hound. Their first release since 2014.
Hailing from South Yorkshire, the band began as a two-piece sounding like a more groove-laden version of The Locust, consisting of Ryan Bright (Drums, Redmist Destruction, Tim Butane) and Calvin Rhodes (Guitar, formerly Antares). This line-up was completed by the addition of Joseph Thorpe on Bass (Zozo, formerly Rolo Tomassi, Doctrines, Then Thickens) and Joe Nicholson on Guitar (formerly Rolo Tomassi).
In the five years since their debut release, E.P. Rhombus Now, their sound has mutated into something with way more depth and tentacles than previously considered possible.
FFO: King Crimson, Meshuggah, Autechre, Yes, Olivier Messiaen, Mew and Igor Stravinsky.
"This is going to be AOTY stuff…" Nikk Hunter, Fecking Bahamas http://feckingbahamas.com/top-picks-our-most-anticipated-math-rock-albums-of-2019
"entirely coherent, unique and punishingly heavy", Alex Lynham, Team Rock http://teamrock.com/livereview/2015-10-01/first-look-body-hound-and-wot-gorilla-live-in-manchester
"[...] sure fire to be future leaders in their scene" - Dave Bull, Punktastic
Body Hound will perform No Moon in full to close the evening.
Supports and details TBC.
