Following the reissue of their celebrated debut album ‘Sunshine Hit Me’, The Bees have announced a brand-new UK tour for February and March 2024, their first live dates in 10 years.
Hailing from the Isle of Wight, The Bees were formed by duo and multi-instrumentalists Paul Butler and Aaron Fletcher. The psychedelic duo recorded their debut album ‘Sunshine Hit Me’ over 20 years ago from Butler’s backyard home studio, which was lauded by critics and fans alike later leading to a Mercury nomination. The album’s success led to the further assembly of the band with steady years of touring.
The Bees re-issue of ‘Sunshine Hit Me’ (available HERE) includes celebrated tracks ‘No Trophy’, ‘Punchbag’, and previously unreleased single, ‘Seeds’. Taking inspiration from multiple genres and pioneering artists, the band describes the story behind record as “an album underlined inherently with themes of fighting; the winning and the losing, the glory and the bruising, of taking it to the bell and still standing strong.”
