potential new album launch... (if its ready!!)

Hope And Social

plus guest support tba

So.. we might have a new new album... but it depends on if its ready, but we decided to have a big party gig just in case!

Sleep Sound is Hope and Social's third full length studio album to be released in under two calendar years and bears the hallmark, inclusive Hope and Social big noise coupled with delicate moments of intimacy. On Sleep Sound the band have develop a broader palate with varied orchestrations and feels. It's still a band in a room mind, it's damn near a live album, imbued with the spirit of Graceland, Talking Heads, Ray Charles, Sufjan Stevens and Van Morrison. It started (as it always does with Hope and Social), in a pub, with six men having an overly frank discussion about economic collapse, fighting in the streets, the end of days, only doing it for the good stuff and of the kindness of people.

Written, recorded mixed and mastered in 30 working days over a chaotic, accident ridden 3 months, Sleep Sound is a true album in the traditional sense; a record of a time and a place in Hope and Social's lives. It chronicles parenthood, the need for country air, the rage against our ineffective political representatives and our impotence to make them accountable. Yet Sleep Sound is also joyous, basking in the glory of our greens, the diversity of our cultures and the wonderfulness of our friends. Befitting their name, the album is full of hope. The last thing to be sung on the album was a choir of fans and friends singing that "We can make it anywhere". It won't change the world, but it might change our world.

We'll be writing about making of the album for next couple of weeks and you'll be able read all the posts as we write them here - http://www.hopeandsocial.com/category/sleep-sound
